SECURITYMADEIN.LU is the main online source for cybersecurity in Luxembourg. Its goal is to provide news, valuable information as well as a toolbox with useful cybersecurity solutions, relevant for the Luxembourg economy.

This website was launched February 2015 by „security made in Lëtzebuerg“ g.i.e.(SECURITYMADEIN.LU) to centralise, on a single online portal, all news, events, tools and other valuable information relevant for the Luxembourg economy, including the main activities from its own departments:

SECURITYMADEIN.LU builds on the integration of the pre-existing services, infrastructures, platforms, experiences and competences of partners, and thus represents a central place for information security awareness-raising, news, tools, support and problem solving material.

CASES, CIRCL as well as the newly created C3, are henceforth promoted under the common brand SECURITYMADEIN.LU.

Team & Other Resources

Its multidisciplinary team of 40+ experts, covers a broad range of competences and skills, from information security specialists in technical as well as governance-related fields of expertise, via communication, networking and training, to legal and business development.

The financing details and mission statement of SECURITYMADEIN.LU is governed by a 5-year agreement, signed between the g.i.e. and its supervisory ministry, the Ministry of the Economy.

SECURITYMADEIN.LU also fosters and helps to initiate new market segments with high added value (eg. cyber exercises, threat intelligence or cyber insurance). In collaboration with the main players from the national information security secto, SECURITYMADEIN.LU promotes and delivers high-quality tools & services accessible to municipalities, SMEs and companies of all sizes, by developing new solutions and competent services for the Luxembourg economy.

Stakeholders

The state of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, represented by three ministries (Ministry of Family, Integration and the Greater Region, Ministry of Education, Childhood and Youth & Ministry of the Economy) as well as local government federations: SIGI (Syndicat Intercommunal de Gestion Informatique) and SYVICOL (Syndicat des Villes et Communes du Luxembourg), together fund and manage SECURITYMADEIN.LU and all its activities in a partnership. The management board is composed of representatives of all stakeholding members.

Creation History and Articles of Association

SECURITYMADEIN.LU was born from the need to preserve and enhance, within a permanent structure, the results obtained through many years of work in the field of informations security activity of: CASES and CIRCL and the results of all Luxembourg activities supported by the European program ‘Safer Internet’ (now known under the name BEE SECURE). Its activities and goals build on the „Information and Communication Systems Security Strategy“ defined by the Ministry of the Economy in 2003 and is continuously adjusted in coherence with the National Cybersecurity Strategy.
