ISACA Luxembourg Chapter is privileged to present Dr. Sebastien VARRETTE, who, along with Dr. Pascal BOUVRY, leads University of Luxembourg (UL)’s High-Performance Computing Center.
Subject Matter
Sebastien’s field of expertise covers High-Performance Modelling and Simulation for Big Data Applications and Analytics, Cloud Computing systems, HPC safety and security as well as GDPR applied to HPC. We expect an extraordinary evening, which will bring us up to speed with Luxembourg’s implication in Computing Science and Technology at the European level. Do come one and all
Speaker:
Dr. Sebastien Varrette is a research associate at the University of Luxembourg (UL). Expert in the deployment and management of High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, he, along with Prof. Pascal Bouvry, leads the UL HPC platform developments since 2007.
His main research interests lie in the domains of security and performance of parallel and distributed computing platforms, such as HPC and Cloud Computing infrastructures.
He participates as chair, track chair and committee member on various conferences and events (IEEE CloudNet, CloudCom, OPTIM, PCGrid, ICPADS, IPDPS, HPCS etc.).
Sebastien participates in several technical workgroups, EU projects and committees where he represents Luxembourg (Grid5000, ISO/TC 307 “Blockchain and distributed ledger technologies”), PRACE, ETP4HPC, several COST action (IC1305 “Network for Sustainable Ultrascale Computing (NESUS)”.
Dr. Varrette has co-authored 4 books and over 9 Computer Science book chapters and over 80 research articles in scientific journals and international conference proceedings.

The conference is free of charge for ISACA members, our partner associations as well as any persons interested in the topic. Should you reserve a seat for the conference and not attend without a valid reason, an invoice of 25,00€ will be sent.
